Vance County Busted Mugshots is a private reference service, not a government office. It cannot confirm live custody, release anyone, post bond, or pull an official booking record. The right agency must answer those questions directly.
Where to Ask for Records
Use the office that created or keeps the record. Confirm the current detail before mailing, faxing, or visiting because directory information and agency pages can change.

The Sheriff’s official pages are at vancecountysheriff.org and its Detention Center page. The research did not find a public booking search form. Ask whether the person is currently held, released, or transferred, then request the existing booking record and identification photograph separately.
Choose the Right Office
A short description of the record will speed up routing:
- For a booking record or photo, contact the Vance County Detention Center records unit. The county-wide booking and records page gives the request fields and Chapter 132 path.
- For a Henderson incident report, use the Henderson Police Department. The city page is the official routing point, not a verified live arrest feed.
- For a warrant or court file question, contact the Vance County Clerk/courthouse at 156 Church Street, Suite 101, Henderson, NC 27536, (252) 430-5100, or use the eCourts Portal.
- For a state prisoner, probationer, or parolee record, use the NCDAC offender search. It does not cover county jail bookings.
- For federal or immigration custody, use the BOP or ICE locator, or the U.S. Marshals district and FOIA routes. Those systems do not create a Vance County public booking page.
For a release notification rather than a photo, the NC SAVAN/VINE service is the relevant state alert route. It is not a general roster.
What to Include in a Request
North Carolina Chapter 132 requests work best when they identify an existing record. Include the person’s full name, a narrow booking or incident date range, arresting agency if known, and a booking number if available. State that the request seeks the booking or intake record, charges and bond as recorded, booking and release fields, case number or court date if maintained, and the associated identification photograph.
Ask for electronic copies where possible. If a record is withheld or redacted, request the specific legal basis and any nonexempt portion. No Vance-specific photo fee or fixed response deadline was located. G.S. 132-6 and 132-6.2 address prompt access, actual reproduction costs, and certain special service charges, so ask for an estimate before a chargeable request is processed.
What This Service Cannot Confirm
A private reference page cannot see an internal jail system or alter an agency record. It cannot tell a family member whether a person is currently held, predict a release, verify a warrant, or decide whether a photo should be disclosed. A phone answer can help with routing, but a copy of the record is needed when exact charges, time, bond, or photo status matters.
Charges at booking are accusations. A news story or third-party page may be stale. Use the Sheriff or Detention Center for custody, the arresting agency for an incident report, and the Clerk for a certified court disposition.
